Validation

There’s so much comfort in simply being understood. Letting your thoughts out to someone who simply listens and nods at the validity of your feelings, even if they don’t agree. Never rushing to correct you, but rather allowing you to just be. Exactly the way you are. There’s a lot more comfort, though, in realizing you’re still able to let those same thoughts out even when you‘re certain they’ll never make sense to absolutely anyone in the world. Believing so much in their validity, that not even an entire crowd shaking their heads at you in disagreement, could mess with your decision to continue giving yourself a pat on the shoulder every night for how you feel about things. Not everything is meant to be understood. And not everyone has to find it in them to listen and nod. And that’s okay. It’s okay.
