A list of 100 things I believe in

Today I got to learn about how lists can be a powerful journaling tool, especially lists of 100s. Then I came across a list of 100 things to write 100 things about, and I couldn’t not attempt to start one of them. So I chose to write a list of 100 things I believe in. (Try it out, it might surprise you!)

Here are some of mine:

1. I believe in God.
2. I believe in the power of writing.
3. I believe in therapy.
4. I believe there will always be things about people I won’t understand even if I try to.
5. I believe in my right to protect my energy from those who constantly drain it, even if it means I’ll have to cut them off completely.
6. I believe everyone’s an artist, if they allow themselves to believe it.
7. I believe you don’t really choose the books you read; they choose you.
8. I believe that if I get to hang out with any of the people whose loss still hurts, I might end up wishing I never met them. I believe that people leave exactly when they’re supposed to.
9. I believe in the importance of giving everything a name, especially feelings.
10. I believe that the “seemingly” shy and least charismatic introverts always end up being the most interesting.
11. I believe that every lost chance eventually comes back as soon as the person gathers up the courage to admit they regret not having seized it.
12. I believe that your calling will keep calling you, no matter how many times you pretend you haven’t heard it.
13. I believe that what you’re looking for will eventually find you.
14. I believe that eye contact can make people fall in love even when they don’t intend to.
15. I believe that people can remember what you say and do, just as much as they remember how you made them feel.
16. I believe that procrastination is anxiety.
17. I believe I’m worthy of love, despite all those who came along and made me doubt it.
18. I believe that relationships bring life back into our traumas.
19. I believe there’s no smile that isn’t so beautiful.
20. I believe I can do whatever I set my mind to, despite how cliche this would sound to so many of the younger versions of me.
21. I believe in baby steps.
